All about me

Kia ora and welcome to my blog.

My name is Hemi and I am a year 6 at Glen Taylor school.

I am a proud cook islander\moari from GI.

My favourite subject at school is PE because it is healthy and I skip class.

My favourite hobbies are playing video games, sleeping, anime, eating, annoying my family, hanging out with friends, and playing sports.

My Amazing holiday

Week one of my holidays

I went to avondale college with some 0f my friends to train for basketball! We got tickets to go to the NZ breakers vs Brisbane bullets game. It was so awesome because we ate dunkin donuts, chips and lollies. Later on when the game ended. My dad picked me up and drove me home. I trotted straight into the house and flopped into bed because I was exhausted. The second week of my awesome holidays I went to gravity with my friend Mason and played parkour tag. Parkour is when people jump off walls, hop over obstacles and do crazy stunts. It was so terrific

I strongly disagree that classes should have forts

I strongly disagree that classes should have forts

firstly because if we eat in the fort then someone might make a mess and leave it there.

Secondly, packing the fort away is a massive job.

Plus an even bigger job to build its only one day!

From personal experience students were pushing and shoving in the fort and there were heaps of food crumbs left on the ground. Hardly anyone was cleaning up, most of the students were wandering around playing tag and making more mess and I think that was disgraceful.

You can hurt someone in the fort because there is limited space. That’s why I strongly believe classrooms should not

Build forts.

Matariki fort day

Matariki fort day

In room 2 we decided to build forts as it links to matariki by coming together, sharing food, singing waiatas and remembering the people that have passed. also sharing stories and playing with family and friends.

How to build a fort in school

First organize where your fort is going be, for example a bookshelf or under a table. The equipment

You’re going to need heavy books to hold down the blanket that is sheltering you. Put comfy stuff in your base like snacks, pillows, and blankets.

the experience

It was probably the biggest base i’ve ever made

Because students in my class brought pillows from the library and also stuff from home like chips, pillows, sheets, blankets and oodies. It was so fun having heaps of snacks and telling stories. My favorite part was building the fort. Because it was fun working together with people I don’t usually work with.

should zoo’s be banned

I would say no because of these reasons

1. we would possibly be able to see animals we don’t normally see around

2. its fun to play hide and seek around the zoo

3. there are lots of fun activities that you can try

4. there is a playground with a massive dragon you might even think it look real

matariki

  1. Waita means wai (water) ta (salt).
  2.  She is the fourth child and third sister
  3. He has strong connections with birds and the food from the sky
  4.  The star Tupuanuku is the star that helps with everything that grows within the soil to be harvested or gathered for food.
  5. If Tupuānuku appeared tiny and small, then it was predicted that the food from the village gardens would not be as great as in previous years.
  6. We connect with Ururangi whenever we feel the winds connect to our bodies and the swaying of the trees.
  7. She Presents the rain and atmosphere conditions
  8. And take care of the weather

homwork is terrible by Hemi

It’s outrageous that my teacher thinks we should get homework. Your brain gets tired and crazy after 6 hours of school from 8:45 to 2:45. I want to spend time with friends and family out of school. I strongly believe we should not have homework  for these reasons:

  1. I play basketball on wednesday in the morning when it’s time for school I can’t focus!
  2. It can take hours for homework to be finished so it is tiring
  3. I want to play videogames and have a rest for once!

That’s why I strongly believe kids should not get homework.
